  • Good food (and lots of it) and reasonably priced for Prudhoe Bay if you wish to stay on the slope.

Salcha, AK (Fairbanks) – 3 Dog Night Hostel  (August 24, 2011)

  • Nice clean, well set up hostel just outside of Fairbanks.

Stoner, BC (near Prince George) – Stone Creek Campground (August 29, 2011)

  • At 18 bucks it was a average price for a campground but the view was fantastic and showers are free and very clean and firewood is free too.  Owner is very interested in bikes and if you needed some tools or a place to work I’m sure he would help out.

Stone Creek Inn (Gallatin Gateway, MT) – (Sept 13, 2011)

  • It was off season and I struck a good deal on a cabin.  The cabins are older but warm and cozy and the location beside the Gallatin River is great.

Hotel Playa Loreta (Santa Loreta, MX) - (Sept 21, 2011)

  • Welcoming staff and helpful.  Allowed me to park the bike in the courtyard.  Rooms were clean and shower had hot water …but with the heat I didn’t use it.

Hostel Los Amigos (Oaxaca, MX) - (Sept 28, 29, 2011)

  • Keep in mind this is a hostel so don’t expect the ritz.  It has everything you need to get by.  The charm of this place is the common area and the conversation it fosters.

J&R Guesthouse (San Ignacio, BZ) - (Oct 4, 2011)

  • Small two room guesthouse in the home of John and Rosa.  Very clean, comfortable and reasonably priced.  They are fine people and can’t do enough for you.  A great spot on the way to the border.

Ana de Santiz Guesthouse (Antigua Guatemala, GU) - Oct 8-14, 2011

  • Large clean rooms, hot water, great meals, great location, motorcycle parking and warm friendly people.

Hotel Carare Plaza (Cimitarra, CO) - Oct 27,28, 29, 30, 31, 2011

  • Nice, clean welcoming place with secure parking for the motorcycle.
  • Just off the main square with lots to do and friendly people everywhere.

La Alcayata Hotel (Popoyan, CO) - November 10, 11, 2011

  • On the edge of the towns historical district.
  • Motorcycle parking in hotel and car park next door.
  • Friendly staff.

  • Close to the Plaza Central
  • Hot water, Wifi and restaurants and grocery store nearby
  • Parking for a few bikes
  • Front desk staff is very helpful with questions and direction (Yesenia)

  • Great courtyard to park the bike (they say they can handle four)
  • Elevated courtyard with dining area and kitchen.
  • Clean, well kept rooms.
  • Just off the main square.
  • Internet, breakfast included and hot water.

Hotel San Agustin (La Serena, CH) - December 20, 2011

  • Nice quiet, clean spot in a stopover city on the way to Santiago
  • Parking for the bike in the back
  • Internet, hot water and breakfast included.
  • Staff is friendly and helpful.
